Transport for NSW announced in a press conference today the planned commencement of a fine system for passengers who stand on the down-escalators during the morning rush hour. A spokesman claimed that "passengers standing on down escalators is a safety risk and a major cause of congestion in the rail network - causing passenger flow bottlenecks which reduces capacity and increases the risk of overcrowding at stations".…
